After Christmas Sales

Gift cards! Gift cards! Gift cards!

Thank goodness for gift cards.  We get to take advantage of after Christmas sales!
One that I’m taking advantage of today is Anthropologie’s 25% off sale items + 15% off for a December birthday coupon code.

This pretty little number is on sale, and 25% off of that.  Star-Turn Top has great reviews, so I’m putting in my order for sure.

Another item I am using my gift card for, is this ring.

It isn’t on sale, or 25% off of that, but it’s not too expensive (and hey, I still get 15% off for being a Sag!)

Enjoy the sales, y’all! Happy New Year!

Two Words.

GO RANGERS!

J. Crew Final Sale + EXCELLENT Customer Service

Right now, you can get so many amazing bathing suits at J. Crew’s final sale online.  The best part is, they are all about $20.

I’ve had my eye on this seersucker bikini all summer, and today it became mine for $20! I got Seamist Blue (because dark pewter was not available in my size) and I’m super excited for it to come in.

Cute tops on sale too, like this one!

And I know FINAL SALE are two very scary words, but I have never dealt with better customer service than the girl I just talked to.  I found out 5 hours later that I ordered the wrong color bottoms to my bikini, and no problem.  They waived shipping for the correct one and said go ahead and return the final sale item, I’ll make a note on your account and receipt.  Can you believe it?

Anywho… go check this sale out.  Awesome dude stuff too.

Not Fun. Not Fun At All.

So we have a sick puppy.  Well, we have two sick puppies.  My parents’ dog Ben was just diagnosed with diabetes.  He’s regulated and acting like a new man,  so that’s great news.  One little guy not doing so well is Tom. Tom has been a sick little dude ever since he was rescued.  By sick, I mostly mean hurt.  He’s always limping, unexpected weight gain, hair changing colors, cold symptoms, it goes on and on. About a year and a half ago, he had a fungal infection in his toe and had to have it amputated.  As horrible as it was, I will say, he was pretty dang cute coming home from the hospital. Well, Tom is practically an escape artist, so he found his way around that cone in no time.  Unfortunately, this means bigger cone.  Still pretty dang cute/pathetic. When I was told a week ago that Tom would need a knee ligament repair surgery, the first mission I went on was to find a new cone.  Let me say, advancements in satellite dish technology have been plentiful.  I ended up buying a $30 inflatable collar that stabilizes his head without the huge cone hitting/scratching everything, and he can also eat and drink as he wishes.  If any of your dogs need surgery, GET THE INFLATABLE.  It’s a lifesaver already. Well, Tom had to have another surgery during his repair, because something about his kneecap (insert big words I don’t understand here). Poor guy, right? I finally picked him up today, and along with my sad sad pup, were 5 medications and a jar of a growth they saved me from his knee (this vet must know how strange I am – I was totally intrigued to see what was in there!). Tom’s doing okay now.  He’s sleeping a lot, and very very “out of it”, but that’s much better than pain. Here is Tom sporting his new inflatable accessory. Just had to share… send good thoughts to Tom for fast healing and minimal inflatable wearing time. 🙂 For those of you who who are not queasy at a photo of a wound, click for more to see the picture of his sweet scar. Cold Weather + Curry

Cold? That may be an exaggeration. Let’s just rephrase to “not 110 degrees + curry”.

When the weather finally starts to cool down, I CRAVE Indian food.  Give me the spiciest, most flavorful curry you can find.  I (Lindsey) also really never ever ever cook.  So when I don’t have time to drive to Roti Grill or India Garden, I have to improvise.

My latest experiment has changed my life.

I bought a box of pre-made mashed vegetable curry once at Kroger.  I had low low low expectations (as I do with every other pre-boxed Asian food I have ever tried), so it sat in my pantry for about 4 months before I was finally hungry enough to eat it. I wish I had known about the AWESOMENESS of this curry earlier.

Kitchens Of India Mashed Vegetable Curry

I found this in the “India” section of my Kroger.  I recently went back and bought 4 boxes.  It is restaurant quality goodness.
Heat this up on the stove, add some chicken or pork if you’d like, and pour it over some basmati rice.  Heck, you can even bake some frozen Nan bread if you can find it.  Raw cook-em-yourself tortillas also serve as a good curry scooping mechanism. If you’re really gutsy, add some Sriracha sauce.  I will say it is a decent level of spice out of the box, but I can’t get things hot enough for my liking, so I live by Sriracha.

Anyways, I had to share my lots of veggies, delicious curry that can be ready in 5 minutes.  I’m pretty proud of my discovery.

Fall Is Upon Us!

My favorite season is here.
It’s time for Pumpkin Spice Lattes and flannel shirts.  Football and hot wings.  Hoodies and other items of clothing that can cover up the blubber I’m collecting to get through the winter.  Oh if only we could actually use that excuse…

I love short boots more than anything.  I think they would look SO cute with a plaid or flannel shirt and some straight/skinny denim.  Unfortunately, I can’t pull it off.  You can’t go from being the “comfy girl” who wears maxi dresses and cardigans every day to all-of-the-sudden the “stylish girl” in short booties and skinny jeans.  Nope.  Just doesn’t happen.  If I was known as the “stylish girl”,  I would own these boots in a flash.  I LOVE them.  I really am going to push all of you (and my friends that don’t read this) to buy them and a cute flannel shirt so I can live vicariously through you.

Here they are! For $159 you can be the coolest kid on the block.

Dress those bad boys up with some fun earrings and a cuff bracelet, and I officially envy your awesomeness.

Speaking of comfy fall clothes, I’m crushing on this shirt pretty hard too. Too bad it’s $72 at J. Crew.

Ahhh one sweet day.  🙂

Dream Date

‘Nuff said.

One Thing I Can Not Live Without

Neutrogena MoistureShine Lip Soother – $6.24 at Target
What inspires this post you might ask? Well, I’ll tell ya.  Allergies.  My lips are chapped, my nose is raw, and this little tube provides a glimmer of comfort on this itchy fall day.

This stuff is the perfect consistency for lip gloss.  Not too sticky, but stays on.  Literally cools your lips when you put it on.  It’s the most amazing lip product I have ever used.

I’m not big on lip color, but the one on the right is perfect.  It’s barely a hint of that “natural lip color”.

To top it all off, it’s SPF20!

I keep a tube in my car, at work, and in my makeup drawer.

Lindsey’s Lust Of The Day

Can I call it a lust if I already own it? Maybe… maybe not… regardless, this one is awesome.

Target has done it again.  Right now, the featured designer is Tucker.

I walked in the store, and was completely blown away by the Tucker for Target designs.  I bought 2 dresses and am going back for a top.  At these price points, they look like the full priced Tucker line.  VERY versatile and great transition pieces into fall.  I’m giddy about my new purchases.

See below.

This one I own

This one I own too (pardon that horrible model stance)

And this one I am most likely going back for tonight.

I love them all. Seriously.  Target did not style them well in these photos, but in real life… eeeeesh I LOVE!

Pardon this horrible photo of me playing with Abbie, but here’s the first dress in real life.

You really do need to go check these out in the store.
